As everybody is different and has different bustlines and different width necks it is difficult to pinpoint the exact position that your necklace will hang but hopefully this will be a useful guide when choosing which necklace length you fancy.
At the moment it is very fashionable to wear an assortment of chain lengths and layers at the same time so hopefully this guide will help you imagine where your pendants will hang when you are mixing and matching your necklace layers.

Retro Jewellery's Guide to Necklace chain lengths:
18 inch (45 cm metric) necklace chain - Sits a Little Below the collarbone
An 18 inch (or 45cm) long necklace chain will hang a little bit below your collar bone.
24 inch (61 cm metric) necklace chain_- Sits around the Bust area
A 24 inch (or 61 cm) necklace chain hangs at your bust-line.
A necklace chain this length is a useful accessory for drawing attention to the cleavage or breaking -up a plain area, such as when you are wearing a simple, jumper, T-shirt or top which would be enhanced with a bit of extra detail that can be provided by a necklace pendant or charms.
36 inch ( 91.5 cm metric ) necklace chain - Extra Long - Sits under the bust area.
A 36 inch long necklace chain will hang fashionably low, way below your bust. This length has been very popular this season as it is a very trendy way to wear your jewellery.
At Retro Jewellery, the extra long necklace chains are generally thicker and with larger links than the shorter length necklace chains that we sell.
Choker Necklace - Fits close to the neck.
A choker necklace fits closely around your neck. The choker necklaces at Retro Jewellery are usually between 14 and 15 inches long with an additional 3 inch long extender chain so the average person should be able get a comfortable fit when wearing a choker.
